Your Groomsmen’s Guide

We understand that a Bards suit might be too much for every groomsman. But with more than 10 years of experience and connections to clothiers around Connecticut, your bard will help style your entire wedding party, down to the last detail — we’ll even accompany you to your groomsmen’s appointments to help pick suits, pocket squares, and socks.

At Bards, we work with everyone!
Brides, grooms, bridal parties, families - whoever will be wearing a suit, pants, vest or shirt is welcome. We prioritize inclusion, and our clothing is completely custom, which means we measure to fit your body and your sense of style.

 

  • Ready to learn more? To start the process, reach out to us here. Your bard will contact you within 1-2 business days.

  • The Meeting
    Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll receive a private, at-home consultation to discuss your story, your colors, your theme, your desired look and any other details of your day that might influence your ensemble. Please feel free to provide photos and swatches for inspiration!

    Our Pricing
    During your consultation, we will discuss pricing. As a wedding gift from us, you’ll also receive a free shirt in the fabric and style of your choice.

    Guidance
    Your bard is connected to the best Connecticut has to offer for weddings! We can recommend clothiers that are a great match for your bridal party and family members, if a Bards suit is out of their budget. Your bard will even accompany your groomsmen to their appointments. This ensures that you’ll have a cohesive look and coordinating details, like socks and pocket squares.

    Please also feel free to ask for personalized recommendations for venues, photographers, day-of stylists… we’re happy to help guide you!

  • You, your partner and your bard will work together to style your look. Styles can range from formal tuxedos to rustic suits to pants and suspenders… or even some new design!

    When the right time arrives, your bard will take your full measurements. This can be done at your place of business or in the convenience of your own home.

  • Once final decisions are made, we’ll place your order!

    Our suits are made by hand in Brooklyn, NY by some of the most premier cutters and pattern makers in the industry. Because everything is made entirely bespoke to you - nothing is off the rack - orders take approximately 6-8 weeks to arrive.

  • Approximately 3 weeks after the initial consultation, your bard will meet you for a second fitting. A basted version of the garment(s) will be tried on to determine if any alterations are needed. Our priority is perfect fit and your satisfaction!

    You are included in every step of the process, and style changes can be made at this stage.

  • Once any final alterations are made, the process is complete - and you can get back to writing the next chapter of your love story.

    Each garment is hand delivered to you, including your gift shirt or any additional accoutrements. We will try the ensemble on one last time to ensure complete satisfaction and address any last minute details. From there, it’s on to the big day.

    Supporting Your Party
    If your bard is consulting on other aspects of your wedding - such as helping pick out groomsmen’s suits - they will continue to work with you as planned until the process is complete and you’re ready for your wedding day.

  • Guiding the Groomsmen

    A Bards suit was a bit out of budget for Alex’s groomsmen, but that didn’t mean that Bards couldn’t help. In fact, Alex’s bard travelled to JT Ghamo Clothiers with the bridal party to compare fabrics and colors. This ensured that the whole group looked completely coordinated when the big day arrived.

  • Partners in Paradise

    When it comes down to it, the best part about your wedding is affirming to your partner that you will always be there for one another. So when an amazing bride wanted to write a love note to her future husband, we knew exactly what to do - embroider it under the collar of the groom’s three piece tuxedo, because “she’s always got his back.”
